Wildlife supporters, including local activists from the Center for Biological Diversity, Sierra Club, Defenders of Wildlife, New Mexico Wilderness Alliance, Animal Protection of New Mexico and WildEarth Guardians, are rallying right now at the Roundhouse. They’re hoping  to ask Governor Susana Martinez to allow Ted Turner’s Ladder Ranch in Sierra County to continue housing Mexican gray wolves as part of the reintroduction of these endangered animals. Earlier this month, the state game commission denied the ranch’s permit request, ending the facility’s 17 years of Mexican wolf conservation work. KSFR's Zelie Pollon was on the scene and brings us this report.

Last week Spaceport America launched its five year Business Plan including luring new companies, expanding an educational arm and making themselves self sustaining financially. If you think you’ve heard these announcements before, And while the announcements are somewhat similar to ones we’ve heard before, Spaceport director and CEO Christine Anderson says this time it’s different. We asked her to talk about the business plan and why time they’re really open for business.
