When Saudi Arabia asked for help in forming a regional military force to fight a Houthi Shi'ite insurgency in Yemen, they got a lot of positive responses.  When the United States sent out feelers about a regional army to fight the Islamic State, the response was more restrained.  Roy Gutman, the Pulitzer Prize winning mideast correspondent for the McClatchy newspapers told KSFR's Dave Marash on HERE AND THERE, he recently toured much of the region to ask why.
