Turmoil over protests against the annual Santa Fe “Entrada” re-enactment continues this week, as the American Civil Liberties Union has announced its investigation into events that led to arrests during last Friday’s ceremony at Santa Fe Plaza.  

And the city of Santa Fe’s survey of historical markers and monuments that may be offensive to certain minorities presages some changes in attitude about how the city honors its forbears.

Deputy New Mexico historian Rob Martinez dropped-by the KSFR studios to shed some light on some of the historic events that shaped New Mexico’s history, the celebrations that accompany them and the controversy that arises.
