You’re going to hear from an early member of Al-Qaeda—he was a key figure in its operations in Afghanistan and elsewhere. And what’s more remarkable about Amen Dean is that in 1998 he was recruited by British intelligence to spy on Al-Qaeda. He worked as an agent until his cover was broken in 2006. He’s decided to speak publicly because he wants to confront jihadists. The BBC’s Peter Marshall interviews undercover agent Amen Dean.
