Santa Fe has been named the number one destination for ‘culturephiles’ by USA today. Santa Fe surpassed such cultural destinations as Indianapolis (number 2), Minneapolis (number 5), New York (number 6) Philadelphia (number 7) and Chicago (number 10). USA Today specifically mentioned Santa Fe’s 400 year history and tri-cultural make up. It took specific note of our acclaimed cultural gems including the Maria Benitez Teatro Flamenco, the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet and of course the internationally-known Santa Fe Opera. And, as the Santa Fe Opera closed its doors on yet another season, KSFR’s Alan Dee sat down with Tom Morris, the Opera’s Director of Administration. While the Santa Fe Opera continues to be heralded as a cultural success, we wanted to hear how it did on the business end. |
