In October, the Santa Fe Food Policy Council -- a joint City County effort established in 2008-- released its food plan, entitled, "Planning for Santa Fe's Food Future."

KSFR's Marion Cox spoke with County Commissioner Kathy Holian on how the new plan brings together issues such as land-use and sustainable agriculture. Commissioner Holian speaks on this report to the concept of "Feed Security," which seeks to bring government and people together to ensure there's enough affordable, easily-accessible and nutritious food for all.

The National Trust for Historic Preservation last month bestowed a national award on northern New Mexico’s Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo for a project it undertook that saw the rehabilitation of old pueblo homes—some as old as 700-years around the plaza in the center of the Pueblo. Tomasita Duran, the Executive Director of the Pueblo’s Housing Authority, says the award for its Owe’neh Bupingeh Preservation Project, reflects historic preservation, community building and resourceful fundraising.
