You may not know it, but today is Vacation Commitment Day. John De Graaf is director of an organization called Take Back your Time, which advocates for vacation time and educates people and businesses on the ill effects of not taking time off. Vacation Commitment day is not only for employees but for employers to encourage their workers to take the time off that they are allotted. Among nations, America is the worst at taking time off.

The Steaksmith restaurant, a much beloved Santa Fe mainstay first opened in the early 1970s, was forced to close its doors this weekend. But the owners Roey Valim and Mario Girard say they hope the upheaval is only temporary. Valim and Girard joined At Noon hosts Zelie Pollon and Tom Trowbridge in the studio.

The Native American science-fiction film, “Legends from the Sky,” about an Iraq war veteran searching for his grandfather is playing in Santa Fe through Thursday at the DeVargas Mall. KSFR's Tom Trowbridge spoke with independent film-maker Travis Holt Hamilton about the movie.
