The clock has run down on Governor Susana Martinez's window to sign bills approved by lawmakers during New Mexico's 2015 60-day legislative session. One of the bills she didn't act on by the 12PM Friday deadline was a measure to extend the Solar Tax Credit, which has helped thousands of New Mexico families and business owners install solar panels to generate their own electricity. KSFR's Kate Powell talked to Sanders Moore of Environment New Mexico about what the Tax Credit extension would have done for New Mexico's environment and economy. |

There is a potentially critical battle coming up in Iraq, as Iraqi ground forces with American and allied air support go after the Islamic State terrorist group on their home turf, the western Iraqi province of al-Anbar. In this case, University of New Mexico Professor of National Security Affairs Emile Nakhleh told KSFR's Dave Marash on HERE AND THERE, the Iraqi ground forces will be a very different mix from those which just ousted I-S from the city of Tikrit. In Al-Anbar, it's going to be the Iraqi National Army and Iraqi Sunni tribal forces in, and Shi'ite militia forces out, and Nakleh says, Iranian troops who were so important in the Tikrit campaign, are also likely to be on the sidelines. |
